This spatula is made from sustainably grown and harvested Teak Wood. This beautifully crafted spatula/scraper is one piece of solid wood. It measures 34 cm's in length, 5 cm's across the head.
With a long one piece blade and a curved edge it can be used to turn patties, burgers and pancakes. It is great for sautéing eggs or tossing pasta dishes. It is also excellent in woks, large pots and frypans where it can effectively scrape the bottom and edges. A very versatile and handy wooden kitchen utensil.
Because Teak wood is very hard our wooden spatulas are strong and durable and do not splinter or crack along the edge like plastic, meaning they can be used safely with non-stick pans and woks and cast iron dishes. Each spatula is individually made by members of a small village. You can see the love and care that has gone into each, how they have spent time making the wood perfectly smooth by hand sanding 5 separate times, in the way that the grain in the wood has been brought to the fore.
There are no chemicals or lacquers or colour dyes used in making the spatula so it is 100 % food safe. Because they are made from Teak wood, the spatulas do not transmit heat so will not burn your hands.
Handwash only and you can re-oil periodically with a food safe oil. With simple care this beautiful spatula will last a lifetime.
