 Handcrafted Wooden Spurtle Large

This wooden spurtle is made from sustainably grown and harvested Teak Wood.  Each piece is individually made, lovingly created to be used in your kitchen or dining room.

This wooden spurtle is a cross between a spatula and a spoon. Because of its slightly curved, smooth surface, it is shaped for both moving food around, and for scraping the food off on the sides of your bowls and pans. It is handy in a big pot of chili or whipping up some batter. It is also excellent for flipping over vegetables in a hot pan, scraping around in your mixing bowl, frying pan, or really anything you can imagine. It makes an excellent gift for a chef or foodie.

Made from Teak wood, which is very hard, strong and durable it is a wonderful addition to your kitchen and your kitchen utensil collection The wood does not transmit heat like a metal utensil.  Nor does it splinter or crack like plastic utensils, meaning you can use this wooden spurtle safely with non stick pans and cast iron dishes.

Each of these spurtles  is individually made by members of a small village. You can see the love and care that has gone into each, how they have spent time making the wood perfectly smooth by hand sanding 5 separate times, in the way that the grain in the wood has been brought to the fore.

For anyone wanting sustainable, non plastic, non toxic kitchen utensils, this is ideal for your kitchen and table.

This beautifully crafted spurtle  measures 38 cm's in length, 5 cm's across the paddle and 3 cm's across the handle. It is perfect for stirring soups, curries, broths, porridge, or for stirring and mixing when baking

There are no chemicals or lacquers or colour dyes used in making the spatula, it  is 100% food safe

Handwash only and  re-oil periodically with a food safe oil.  Do not soak; wood is porous and will soak up water which may cause the wood to crack when it dries. Do not store in direct sunlight as this may cause warping and discolouration.

Note each item is individually made, so grains in the wood will vary from piece to piece
