Businesses I love
I am often at markets and have gotten to meet a wide variety of amazing small business owners. Below are some of the small businesses I love.
Oillee
Plant based skincare + natural remedies. Handmade in Gisborne, NZ
Made by Tash, who does a wonderful job organising the Gizzy Monthly Market.
Butternut Baby
Butternutbaby will help you turn a crappy situation into a cute one you can be proud of. Cloth nappies are better for the planet, better for your budget, and sooo much cuter than disposables!
Bird of Prey Jewellery
Soulfully handmade bohemian jewellery, Tai `Rāwhiti, Gisborne.
I am often next to Amanda at markets, usually at Gizzy and occasionally other parts of NZ. She is this amazing, friendly and warm person, always with a smile. She makes all her own jewellery, with great attention to detail and this wonderful sense of style.
Ohiwa Black Diamonds
I pass Ohiwa every time I travel north, it is a beautiful part of the Eastern Bay of Plenty, not far from Opotiki. Definitely worth seeing. Visit Annette and Matiu's website and learn the story of black truffles and the range of foods and even skin care products they use the in truffles . The honey is fantastic!!
Mons Flavours
Monisha (Mons) and Vishan are the owners of this amazing spice blends online store. Based in Rotorua, she lovingly crafts the spice blends, no msg, no refined sugar, dairy free and caffeine free. Mons also provides recipes and how to make meals with her spices, all simple and easy to follow. Definitely worth checking out.
Ally McFarlane Photography
Ally is an amazing photographer, especially around food and cafes, but she has done an amazing job with taking photos of some of yompai's wooden products. If you are looking for a photographer for your business I highly recommend her.
