Handcrafted Wooden Tray
This handcrafted Teak wooden serving tray is ideal for sushi or cheeses or they can be used for grazing and serving platters.
With cheeses especially, wood is softer and easier on delicate cheeses especially. Wood also helps cheeses breathe and stop sweating so if you wanted to serve cheeses, these wooden trays are not only gorgeous, they are practical.
The tray measures 41 cm's long in total x 13 cm's wide and is 1 cm's thick. The base of the tray is 30 cm's long and the handle is 11 cm's long.
This tray is made from sustainably harvested Teak Wood. Each piece is beautifully designed and crafted, perfect for eating with. Teak wood is very hard, strong and durable, ideal for cooking, serving and eating.
Each wooden tray is individually made by members of a small village. You can see the love and care that has gone into each, how they have spent time making the wood perfectly smooth by hand sanding 5 separate times, in the way that the grain in the wood has been brought to the fore.
For anyone wanting sustainable, non plastic, non toxic kitchen utensils, this is ideal for your kitchen and table.
There were no chemicals or lacquers or colour dyes used making it, so it is 100 % food safe.
Handwash only and make sure it dries before storing it away. Oil with a food safe oil as needed. Dry after washing and leave in a dry place. Oiling will make the grain darker over time Do not soak; wood is porous and will soak up water which may cause the wood to crack when it dries. Do not store in direct sunlight as this may cause warping and discolouration.
Handwash only and you can re-oil periodically with a food safe oil. With simple care this beautiful tray will last a lifetime.
This is individually handcrafted. The purchase of it helps maintain a village and the surrounding environment, enabling skills to be learnt and passed on.
