Why a wooden platter?
Like most things there are advantages and disadvantages. Using wooden platters is the same. Depending on what you need one for or where you want to use it, wooden platters may not be for you.
But there are many advantages to using wooden platters.
They are natural. They don't leach any chemicals or compounds into your food.
Our platters are made of Teak, so they are very strong and durable. They don't chip easily like ceramics, nor shatter like glass.
True you can't put them in the dishwasher but they only require a little handwashing, just as you handwash a non stick or teflon pan. Then make sure they dry.
Because they are natural Teak they are a gorgeous golden brown with distinctive grain lines. They look fabulous used as a platter but they can also be a side plate, or left on the table or sideboard with fruit on them. The rich warm colours of the platters can add lustre to your room,
They can be used to serve both hot and cold dishes. And because it is wood, no heat transmits to you. You can carry them comfortably.
Why wooden platters? Because they are so versatile and beautiful.
And for those who love the planet, they are all sustainably harvested.
